Mobile phone sales plummeted by 20% in the second quarter: Huawei tied with Samsung and apple was unaffected

Samsung suffered the biggest decline, with its market share almost equal to Huawei’s and tied for the top spot. Apple’s mobile phone fell the smallest, only 0.4%. Although the market share is much different from the former two, it is worth noting that the 5g mobile phone to be launched in the near future may greatly boost Apple’s sales. < / P > < p > according to Gartner, global mobile phone sales totaled 295 million units in the second quarter, down 20.4%. Compared with 299 million units in the first quarter, although it only decreased by 1.3%, but the data in the first quarter has been reduced by 20.2%. Therefore, the data in the second quarter did not rebound, indicating that the impact of the new crown epidemic is still continuing, and the mobile phone industry continues to face the cold winter. < / P > < p > the biggest drop in smartphone sales was in India, one of the countries most affected by the new crown, with its smartphone sales down 46%. Of course, even in China, where the epidemic is well under control, sales fell 7% in the second quarter, about 94 million units. < p > < p > as shown in Figure 1, as Samsung’s mobile phones fell by 27.1% year-on-year, the sales volume dropped to 54.7594 million units, while Huawei’s only 6.8% fell slightly. The market share of both mobile phones in the second quarter of this year has been almost equal, with the former accounting for 18.6% and Huawei accounting for 18.4%. < / P > < p > there is a big gap between the two, which is mainly based on the rapid recovery of the Chinese market. Because in the first quarter of the previous year, under the influence of the new crown epidemic, the global sales of Samsung mobile phones fell by 22.7% year-on-year, while Huawei even fell by 27.3%. However, after China had controlled the epidemic, Huawei quickly adjusted its strategy and won the resurgent Chinese market, and its sales volume changed dramatically. In fact, Samsung accumulated a large amount of inventory in the second quarter due to the preparation of mobile phone press conference, but its online channel was very weak. During the epidemic period, the offline sales channel was abnormally blocked, and the control measures in various places made most of the purchases online. However, Huawei has just seized this opportunity. Huawei has vigorously promoted its online sales activities. Various interest free installment and preferential activities have rapidly opened up the Chinese market. In addition, Huawei’s newly promoted 5g mobile phones have caught up with the first batch of replacement wave, which has rapidly expanded China’s market share. Apple sold 38 million iPhones in the second quarter, down 0.4% from a year earlier. Apple’s mobile phone sales were better than most of the smartphone manufacturers in the market in the quarter, and they grew quarter on quarter. < / P > < p > like Huawei, Apple has also launched an interest free staged promotion activity, which eased the decline in sales to a certain extent. Moreover, according to statistics, more than 65% of Apple’s mobile phones have been used for more than two years in China, and they are faced with the need to change their phones. The initial price of the newly launched iPhone se is only 3299 yuan, which stitches up the low price acceptance of consumers after the epidemic, and quickly helps Apple regain the market. Apple is about to launch its new 5g mobile phone in September, which is highly anticipated. Market analysts have raised the expectations of Apple’s industrial chain. < p > < p > from the perspective of the stock market, the recent performance of Shanghai Stock Exchange is not strong, but the industrial chain of Apple has risen against the trend, and apple in the United States stands on the market value of $2 trillion.
